Getting in contact

You can contact AdRESS via email, online contact form or our helpline at:

0330 122 4600
support@adresscotland.org

Our helpline is open from 10:00 to 16:00, Monday - Thursday (excluding public holidays).

Before getting in touch, please take the time to read the information on this page and confirm if AdRESS is the right service for you.

If you do not get through to us, please try again later or try contacting us another way. You can also leave a message or get in touch via email or contact form and we will respond as soon as possible.

  • AdRESS operates exclusively in Scotland and can only provide advice relating to incidents occurring in and around Scottish schools.

In some instances, we may be able to provide advice relating to incidents taking place online and on social media; however, service users must be based in Scotland.

If you are not based in Scotland, you may be able to access support via the organisations listed on our 'Useful Organisations' page.

  • AdRESS is designed to support parents and carers seeking advice and justice, so they will need to be involved if you need our help.

If you would like to learn more about AdRESS and what we can offer you as a child or young person, please see our 'I'm a child or young person' guide.

  • AdRESS is designed to support parents and carers whose child has experienced racism at school in Scotland.

We aim to empower you to take action against the treatment of children in your care and reclaim the power that racism stripped away.

  • Racism is a serious issue in Scotland's schools, and it can have significant impacts on our mental health and wellbeing.

If you (or your child) have experienced racism at school, AdRESS is here to offer support and advice on how to get the justice and outcomes you deserve.

If you're not sure whether what you experienced was racist or not, you may want to see our 'Frequently Asked Questions' or 'What is Racism?' pages.

If you've not experienced racism, AdRESS may not be the right service for you; however, please see our 'Useful Organisations' page for more places to access support.

  • AdRESS is actively committed to a policy of equality of opportunities in its activities and in service provision for its members.

Due to the nature of the work, AdRESS is primarily focused on helping clients or those acting on behalf of pupils who come from Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) backgrounds.

If you are unsure whether this applies to you, please refer to our 'What is racism?' page.

  • AdRESS is available when you have reported a racist incident at school, and you feel that little to nothing has been done to resolve the situation and you're not happy about the outcome.

It is important to report an incident no matter how 'small' you may feel it is. The more people know, the more they can help.

Is AdRESS the right service for me?

While we make every effort to provide support and advice, we may not always be the best organisation to deal with your case. In some instances, we may signpost you to relevant organisations that may be better positioned to provide you with the support and assistance you need.
